Salttech’s DyVaR technology was the final step in a successful innovative near Zero Liquid Discharge project. To comply to the European Commission’s current strategy on the Circular Economy, an innovative research project was conducted at Atlantic Copper;s copper processing plant.
The DyVaR technology proved to be very successful for the treatment of many different types of wastewaters from the copper processing plant. As part of the DyVaR process solid salts are crystallized and separated from the system, and clean water is produced in order to achieve maximum water recovery in the copper mining industry. The produced clean water can be sent back to the factory to be reused as process water to save money and fresh water, and the produced solid salts can be potentially recycled.
