The complexity of mixed brines
We have experienced that brines in the Food and particularly the Dairy industry are enormously complex. So complex, in fact, that traditional treatment concentrating technologies are struggling to process these brines. We see that the brines are made up from several streams, each composed differently. This varying mixture is partially caused by a high organic content in the streams, increased salinity, highly varying pH values.
So, every brine is completely different. This poses a major challenge. The implemented technology must be capable of adapting to the brine being treated. When brines are not properly processed, harmful substances may remain in the effluent that is discharged into the environment. This can cause environmental damage with all its consequences or financial fines.

The Dyvar® technology
A robust, reliable treatment system producing freshwater and highly concentrated solids or brines, with the option to recover water and produced salts.
Our Dyvar® technology is robust and capable of handling different types of brines. Brines that vary widely in composition, such as brines from the dairy industry. The treatment of these brines produces an effluent that can be discharged into surface water or reused in processes within the dairy industry. In addition, a mixture of solid salts and proteins is produced which can be reused.
This entire process we do all in one technology: a one-step Zero Liquid Discharge. By executing all these steps in one process where everything is optimally coordinated, our Dyvar® Technology (Dynamic Vapor Recovery) is currently one of the most energy-efficient technologies available on the market today.
