SALTTECH B.V. and TITAN SALT from the Netherlands are pleased to have started the production of their joint brine crystallisation and salt palletising plant for Envaย in Ireland. ENVA is the leading provider of recycling and resource recovery solutions across the United Kingdom and Ireland. TITANโs general managerย Robert Van Voorstย and ENVAโs general managerย Roger McDermottย confirmed that the new plant will concentrate a pure ammonium sulphate waste stream from a manufacturer from the Dublin area into 4,500 tons of Ammonium Sulphate fertilizer product that has been approved by the Irish ministry of agriculture. The production of this recovered fertiliser will, by default, reduce the need to import the equivalent tonnage of chemical fertiliser into Ireland every year. Virgin chemical fertilisers are also very carbon intensive to manufacture and ENVAโs process will deliver a 98% reduction in carbon footprint when compared to these products.
SALTTECHโs Dyvar Technology will concentrate the brine into salt crystals where TITANโs specific drying and palletizing technology will produce certified granules. According to planning, December 2023 the fertilizer product will find its way to the Irish farmers.ย
